Rho Kappa Omega Attends Breast Cancer Kick Off

Rho Kappa Omega was in attendance at the Breast Cancer Kick off Breakfast at the Liberty House Restaurant located in Jersey City, NJ. The Breast Cancer Walk is scheduled for October 28th, 2018 and will take place at Lincoln Park, Jersey City. Rho Kappa Omega Mourns the Loss of Chapter Member, Dr. Pat Bryant.

The Rho Kappa Omega Chapter mourns the loss of its loving member, Dr. Patricia Bryant. Pat, as she was affectionately known, was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Rho Kappa Omega Chapter in Fall 2007. Pat was very active, lending her talents on various committees. She was a Jersey City native and high-ranking official in the public school district, and won numerous distinguished awards for her tireless efforts and dedication to the early childhood education division. We will surely miss Pat and the rays of sunshine she beamed throughout the community, but are confident in knowing she's gracefully strutting with her wings in Heaven.
It is also with sadness that we share that Mrs. Bryant, Pat's mother, gained her heavenly wings. We ask that you will keep the Bryant family lifted in prayer during this time.
Services for Mrs. Bryant and Ivy Beyond the Wall, Patricia Bryant, will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

The President & Vice-President of Rho Kappa Omega Chapter recently traveled across the world to attend the first Middle Eastern chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc in Dubai, UAE, Omega Theta Omega. To commemorate the chartering, a delegation of 600 dignitaries, family and friends all journeyed to Dubai for the celebration, which was led by our International President Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, L.H.D. and the International Regional Director Gizette L. Thomas.

A historical marker honoring AKA founder, Anna Easter Brown, was unveiled on Friday, February 5, 2016 in West Orange, New Jersey. Ms. Brown was born and raised in West Orange and graduated from West Orange High School in 1897. Members of Rho Kappa Omega attended the festivities to commemorate this special event. The unveliing was also attended by International President Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, and the North Atlantic Regional Director Meredith Henderson.

Rho Kappa Omega Chapter congratulates member Pat Bryant on being honored by the Jersey City chapter of the NAACP at its Freedom Fund dinner. Soror Bryant is a wonderful and dedicated educator in the community!
Rho Kappa Omega presented a donation to the Food Bank of New Jersey. Additionally, we assembled and donated 22 bags of non-perishable food items to students in need at Snyder High School. A small chapter making a big impact in Hudson County!

Rho Kappa Omega Chapter Accepting Applications for the ASCEND Program

The Rho Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is accepting applications to the ASCEND program. The ASCEND program is Alpha Kappa Alpha’s new signature youth enrichment program. The program will focus on Achievement, Self-Awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking, and Developmental Skills.
