Jersey City, NJ – September 7th, 2025
As we begin another year of impact with the Radiant Rho Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, it is with heartfelt joy and gratitude that I welcome our sisters, supporters, and the Hudson County community to a new season of purposeful service, sisterhood, and empowerment.
Our chapter remains steadfast in uplifting those we serve, and this year has already been filled with meaningful initiatives:
On March 22, in partnership with The Flow Initiative, we hosted Her Wellness, Her Power: A Menopause Conversation in Jersey City. This Women’s History Month program created a powerful platform to break the silence around menopause and women’s health through expert dialogue and a special screening of The M Factor.
On May 12, we proudly honored the life and legacy of our beloved Sister, Gloria Felder (1942–2022), with a memorial tree planting at Lincoln Park alongside her family. A Forest Pansy Eastern Red Bud now stands as a lasting tribute to her service, sisterhood, and spirit.
In the spring, we partnered with Dickinson High School Care Closet for the Prom 2025 Donation Drive, collecting dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories to ensure every student could shine on their special night.
As the school year closed, we relaunched our 2025 Scholarship Program to support the academic dreams of high school seniors in Hudson County—an investment in the future of young Black excellence and a testament to our commitment to education.
Most recently, on August 23, we partnered with Mount Olive Baptist Church for a Teacher Supply Giveaway at Arlington Park, providing free classroom supplies to help educators and students start the school year strong.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to invite the community to our signature fall event, The Noir Affair: Pearls, Purpose & Progress, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at The Elan in Lodi, NJ. This elegant, all-black formal gala will raise critical funds to support scholarships, youth programs, and community initiatives that strengthen Hudson and Bergen Counties.
As we enter this new year, let us embrace the spirit of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® by strengthening our sisterhood, empowering our families, advocating for social justice, and uplifting our community. Together, we will continue to make a meaningful impact, create pathways for progress, and honor the legacy of service that defines the Rho Kappa Omega chapter
Thank you to all our sisters, partners, and friends for your unwavering support and dedication. We look forward to another remarkable year of growth, purpose, and community impact with you.

With Sisterly Love and Purpose,
Nokeima T. Jones
President, Radiant Rho Kappa Omega Chapter
