Event Recap: "Her Wellness, Her Power" in Jersey City

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, Jersey City was the site of the empowering "Her Wellness, Her Power" event, hosted by the Rho Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® in partnership with The Flow Initiative. The event, held at the stunning rooftop venue at Dvora Life, provided an important platform for open dialogue on menopause and women's health, aligning with Women's History Month.
The day featured an engaging conversation on menopause, with impactful speakers including Dr. Ije Akunyili, Dr. Ena Marsan, Tami Weaver-Henry, and Radiant President Nokeima Jones. Their wisdom, truth, and commitment to advancing women’s health made a lasting impression on attendees. A heartfelt thank you was also extended to Jasmine Butler, the program chair and Vice President, for her leadership in making this partnership a reality.
The event also included a special screening of The M Factor by Emmy-winning journalist Tamsen Fadel, followed by a powerful discussion that aimed to break the silence surrounding menopause and combat the stigma surrounding women’s health. With breathtaking views of the city as the backdrop, the atmosphere in the room was filled with positive energy and a strong sense of community.
This event marks just the beginning of an important movement for women’s wellness and advocacy. Attendees left inspired and empowered, ready to continue the conversation and push for greater awareness of women’s health, particularly as it relates to menopause.
